This study examines the effects of gender-specific vocational training initiatives in Nepal, with a specific focus on the Ghalegaun and Bhujung regions. These programs facilitate the economic empowerment, employment, and entrepreneurship of women, despite obstacles such as limited education, traditional home responsibilities, and male dominance. The research highlights the significance of including business, vocational, and life skills training. This study used a qualitative research design, involving 27 women who participated in VET programs, as well as four relevant officials. The results demonstrate substantial enhancements in the participants’ abilities and financial status after undergoing the program, particularly in domains such as homestay management, resulting in improved livelihoods and a decrease in poverty. Although the study has shown some initial achievements, it also emphasizes a discrepancy between policy frameworks and their actual execution. This underscores the importance of establishing improved communication channels in order to maximize the usage of skills. The research highlights the significant impact of vocational training in promoting entrepreneurship among women, thereby contributing to both local economic development and gender parity. To improve the long-term success and effectiveness of vocational training programs, stakeholders should focus on filling these gaps and providing continuous assistance. This will help ensure that these initiatives contribute to inclusive socio-economic development in the region.
